Commissioner's Office Public Register
The Data Protection Registration information document states:
Compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998
"Data controllers must comply with the provisions of the 1998 Act even if they are exempt from notification."
(we're not exempt, but it's better practice this way)
There are eight Data Protection Principles
In summary they require that data shall be:
1. fairly and lawfully processed
2. processed for limited purposes
3. adequate, relevant and not excessive
4. accurate
5. not kept longer than necessary
6. processed in accordance with the data subjects’ rights
7. secure
8. not transferred to countries outside the EEA without adequate protection
This does not change the ethical way in which we have processed data in the past, and the way we will continue to process it.
Personal data (name, address, email, telephone number etc) will only be used for the purposes of maintaining the fellowship's operations and compiling lists etc. This use will be restricted to the identified data controller (Alex Ottway) and other designated data users, camp leaders, administrators, and in (hopefully) rare occasions, medical
and emergency personnel.
Data will NOT be exported, sold or exchanged nor will it be made publicly available without restrictions.
If you have any questions about our data use policy, or are unsure about anything on this page, please contact
Alex Ottway.
